Version 1.0 · Effective May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how GamerFrame ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you participate in the Finesse closed alpha or interact with our services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to operate the Finesse closed alpha.
1.1 Information you provide directly
Discord user ID and username — captured when you accept the closed-alpha NDA in our Discord server
NDA acceptance timestamp — when you clicked the agreement
Email address — if you contact us via support email (optional, only if you choose to email)
Feedback content — bug reports, design feedback, or other communications you submit in the alpha Discord
1.2 Information collected automatically
Gameplay telemetry — when you play the Finesse alpha build, we may collect anonymized gameplay data including: match outcomes, character class/region used, basic input statistics (movement patterns, attack frequencies) for the purpose of balancing combat
Server connection data — IP address (transient, used for network connection only), connection quality metrics (latency, packet loss)
Crash reports — if the game crashes, automatic crash data may be sent (stack trace, build version, OS version) for debugging
1.3 Information we do NOT collect
Real names (unless you choose to provide one in support correspondence)
Physical addresses
Phone numbers
Full payment card details — voluntary contributions are processed by our third-party payment processor Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number, CVV/CVC, or full expiration date (see Section 9)
Voice chat audio (we don't record voice from in-game or Discord voice chat)
Browsing history outside our services
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
Operate the closed alpha — verify NDA acceptance, provide access to the launcher and build
Improve the game — analyze gameplay telemetry to balance combat, fix bugs, and inform design decisions
Communicate with you — send notifications about alpha updates, server downtime, or critical issues via the alpha Discord
Respond to your inquiries — answer questions you send via support email
Comply with legal obligations — respond to lawful requests from authorities
3. How We Share Information
We do NOT sell your personal information.
We share information only in these limited cases:
Service providers — we use third-party services for hosting (server provider), Discord (for alpha community), analytics, and payment processing (Stripe, for voluntary contributions). These providers have access only to data necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality agreements
Legal compliance — if required by law (subpoena, court order, lawful government request)
Project sale or acquisition — if GamerFrame is acquired by or merged with another company, information may transfer to the successor. You will be notified before this happens
4. Data Retention
NDA acceptance records: retained for the duration of the NDA (until 1.0 release or 2 years from signing, whichever first) plus 1 additional year for record-keeping
Gameplay telemetry: retained for up to 2 years for balance analysis, then deleted or fully anonymized
Crash reports: retained for up to 1 year for debugging purposes
Support correspondence: retained for up to 3 years for reference
You can request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Section 6).
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
NDA acceptance records and personal data are stored in access-controlled systems with encryption at rest
Only authorized personnel (currently: Jason / GamerFrame founder + designated administrators) have access to personal data
Network traffic to our servers uses TLS encryption
We do not store payment information (no card data is processed or held by us; see Section 9)
No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you within 72 hours of discovering the breach as required by applicable law.
6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are a resident of the European Union (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have additional rights regarding your personal information:
Right of access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate information
Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your personal information
Right to restrict processing — request we limit how we process your information
Right to data portability — request your information in a portable format
Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time (note: this may terminate your alpha access)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@playfinesse.gg with proof of identity. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Age Restriction (18+ Only)
The Finesse closed alpha is restricted to adults 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
This is stricter than baseline child-privacy law (which sets the minimum at 13 in the United States under COPPA and 16 in many EU jurisdictions under GDPR). Finesse goes further: no testers under 18, period. This protects minors from exposure to adult-oriented competitive gaming culture and helps prevent any risk of predatory adult-minor interaction within our community.
If we learn we have collected information from a person under 18, we will:
Delete it immediately
Terminate that account's access to the alpha
Document the incident for our records
Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us information should contact privacy@playfinesse.gg for immediate deletion.
Age is attested at multiple points: NDA acceptance, Discord onboarding, and Terms of Service. False age attestation is a material breach and results in immediate access termination.
8. International Data Transfers
The Finesse closed alpha (v1.0) is restricted to residents of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. If you reside outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers and infrastructure are hosted. By participating in the closed alpha, you consent to this cross-border transfer.
If the geographic scope of the alpha expands to include EU/UK/EEA or Brazilian residents in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated to add Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Data Processing Agreement references applicable to those jurisdictions.
9. Payment Processing
If you make a voluntary contribution to support the development of the Game, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"), our third-party payment processor. We do not store, process, or have direct access to your full payment card details.
Provided directly to Stripe by you: payment card details, billing information (if requested), and any data needed to complete the transaction. This data is collected and processed by Stripe; we never see it.
Received by us from Stripe: your name (as provided at checkout), email address, contribution amount, transaction ID, date of payment, the country associated with the payment method, and a partial card descriptor (such as the last 4 digits and card brand).
Not received by us: your full card number, CVV/CVC, or full expiration date.
We use this information solely to (a) confirm and reconcile transactions, (b) issue receipts, (c) respond to support inquiries, (d) maintain accounting records as required by law, and (e) handle refunds, chargebacks, or disputes.
Stripe's collection and processing of your information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. By initiating a contribution, you consent to Stripe's collection and processing of your data per their terms.
10. Cookies and Tracking
The Finesse launcher and game client do NOT use cookies or web tracking. The playfinesse.gg website may use minimal cookies for site functionality (e.g., remembering display preferences); if a separate cookie policy is added in the future it will be linked here and posted on the website footer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via:
Posting the updated policy at playfinesse.gg/privacy
Posting a notice in the alpha Discord
Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document
Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance.
